Entries open for Landcare photography comp

The sixth annual Gomaren & Doctors Creek Catchment Landcare Group ‘Focus on Farms’ photography competition is underway with a wide range of categories for people of all ages.

A key component of the competition is that all photos must be taken in the Darling Downs, defined as the Toowoomba, Southern Downs, Western Downs and Goondiwindi regions.

There are seven themes, or separate categories, within the Open and Under 18 Categories.

They are Rural Landscapes, Working on the Farm, Drone Images, Best Farm Buddies, Plant a Seed Grow a Feed, Wildlife on the Downs and Landcare is for Everyone.

Separately, the Nicki Laws Perpetual Trophy is awarded to the Best Visual Presentation Promoting a Landcare Activity in this Region.

This category is open to all Landcare groups, other environmental groups and individual group members in the Darling Downs region and the theme is ‘Enhancing Habitats on our Patch’.

There is also the Primary School Category for the Best Visual Presentation of a Project by a Primary School, Family Group or Under 13 Individual in this region.

It is open to all primary schools, family groups and under 13 individuals in the Darling Downs region and the theme this year is ‘Insect Investigations.’

The Gomaren & Doctors Creek Catchment Landcare Group is based at Goombungee.

Entries are open until 4 October 2022.

There is an entry fee attached for adults however those aged under 18 can enter for free.
