Barham-built PS Emmylou has been awarded the Tripadvisor ‘2022 Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Award’.

Tripadvisor is an American online travel company. “Tripadvisor gives a Travellers’ Choice award to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travellers and are ranked within the top 10% of properties on Tripadvisor.”

Tripadvisor’s highest award ‘2022 Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Award,’ means that the Emmylou, owned by Murray River Paddlesteamers in Echuca, has been among the top 1 per cent of Tripadvisor listings worldwide.

“In a year that has presented many challenges, a big thank you goes to our team who make it happen every day and to our valued guests who have taken the time to review their cruise experience,” said Director of Murray River Paddlesteamers, Craig Burgess.

“Our PS Emmylou overnight cruises have been very popular with domestic visitors over the past 12 months, with many visitors having never considered an Australian river cruise before.

Our cruises are now 97 per cent sold out for 2022, and we have today just released two new 3-night cruises, departing December 9 and 12, due to demand.

This award comes at an especially exciting time for our business as we continue to grow and expand.

We believe the future of domestic river cruising is very strong and will have some further exciting news to share about our plans for overnight cruises very soon.”

The PS Emmylou is set for a September/October Barham cruise at this stage.

“We are hoping to do some more cruises to Barham in September/October if the water height allows us.

People loved them and are asking for more. However, we need the river guys to do some dredging just past the Koondrook weir,” said Craig.

“There is a large sandbank that needs to be moved. We could do more cruises to Barham if this work was done.”
