The film aims to make a difference, with hope for the Gondwana Link program, which has brought together environmentalists, farmers, scientists, Aboriginal communities and local groups to lead globally significant change across southern Western Australia.

Nature Conservation Board Member Boyd Wykes said the film, which is set around the Sterling Range area, is a good-humoured and galvanising celebration of decades of work by groups and individuals involved in Gondwana Link to restore nature, respect culture and renew communities.

“The film will be the centre piece of a larger event that recognises our region’s role as the western ‘pillar’ in the ambitious Gondwana Link program,” he said.

“Our participation is vital to achieving Gondwana Link’s vision of healthy, reconnected bush across 1,000km – from the tall, wet and coastal forests of the far south west corner to the dry woodlands of the interior.

“Nature Conservation and Undalup originally planned to present a Margaret River screening in early 2020 following a full-house premiere in Albany, however COVID delayed that plan.”

The screening will be complemented by a live audience Q&A conducted by Undalup Cultural Custodian Zac Webb and Gondwana Link CEO Keith Bradby.

The session will give the audience an opportunity to explore ‘where to from here’ and the Margaret River region’s participation in the unfolding Gondwana Link story.

“Inspirational Undalup Cultural Custodian Zac Webb and Gondwana Link convenor Keith Bradby will introduce the film and participate in a closing Q &A opportunity to explore ‘where to from here’ for the Margaret River region as a participant in the unfolding Gondwana Link story.”

Breathing Life into Boodja will be shown in the HEART Main Theatre next Tuesday evening at 6:45pm. Doors and bar will open one hour prior.

Residents are encouraged to book in advance as ticket are selling fast. Tickets are available online at margaretriverheart.com.au or via the HEART Box Office on 9780 5294 between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
