After a gruelling 21-day competition that saw working dogs battle it out on farms across Australia, the winner of the 2025 Cobber Challenge has officially been crowned ... Taking out the highly coveted title of Australia’s hardest working dog is Duke, a tall leggy collie, and his owner Beck Smith based in Stonehenge, a remote town in Central Queensland with a population of 58.

The Maclean Show Society committee is recovering after their biggest weekend in recent memory with great crowds enjoying the NSW Working Dog Stock Trial championships. The 2025 Clarence Valley Council and Maclean Show Society NSW State Championships Working Stock Dog Trial was held at Maclean Showground from July 25 to 27, with competitors vying for $5000 in prize money.

After a wild and cold week making setting up for the 29th Yanac Yard Dog Trial very difficult, last Saturday’s weather wasn’t as bad as forecast. With a few light showers and moderate wind, the event started at 7.30am with an egg and bacon breakfast and the Judges talk for the novice.
