Induro brings home the ribbons

Wakool Sheep Stud Induro White Suffolks has had a great showing at the 2025 Hamilton Sheepvention with wins across the board with their White Suffolks and also in Hamilton’s inaugural Ultra White showing. Induro stud owner Guy Treweek said it was a very successful event as they warm up for the year's bigger shows.

Young leaders compete for Queensland’s top rural honour

Ten finalists from across Queensland will compete for the state's premier rural leadership title during a comprehensive six-day programme in Brisbane from Wednesday, 6 August. The Queensland Rural Ambassador programme, running since 2003, has established itself as a cornerstone of rural leadership development, launching careers and strengthening agricultural communities across the state.

Strong showing and solid results at Bendigo 2025 for Glendonald and Orrie Cowie

The team from Glendonald and Orrie Cowie had an exceptional few days at the 2025 Australian Sheep & Wool Show in Bendigo, showcasing the strength and consistency of their breeding programs. A combined 34 sheep were taken to the event between Glendonald and Orrie Cowie, contributing to both the show and sale with sheep that were well-prepared and highly competitive.

NSW breeders show off their latest crop of youngsters

Winter is the time of year when many hug their fireplaces with a book and warm lap rug but it’s also when breeders of horses and ponies like to brave the cool breezes and join together at shows to compare their youngstock. There were all sizes, breeds and colours at the NSW All Breeds Foal, Youngstock, Winter Hack, Hunter and Newcomer Show at Hawkesbury, with Buckskins well to the fore in the Welsh rings.

Trump’s tariffs don’t affect prices at Show cattle sale

Local stock agent Steve Gaff says the price at the Alice Springs Show cattle sale was much the same as last year or a little better. The Donald Trump tariffs "had no effect at all," probably because the Australian market is affected in a different way – 10 per cent tariffs – compared to other countries.
