TRC welcomes BOM radar coverage

Toowoomba Region Mayor Geoff McDonald has welcomed news that the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) would soon provide an improved radar service to residents of the region ... "In today’s world where disaster preparedness is paramount, our residents need the tools and resources to make informed choices when weather warnings are issued and this additional weather radar service that the BOM will provide is certainly welcome news," Mayor McDonald said.

Rex airline is the on time king

Rex has again been officially recognised as Australia’s most punctual and reliable airline according to Federal Government data for the month of August ... "Besides being consistently Australia’s most reliable airline, we are proud that during COVID we did not de-staff the call centre in a disingenuous attempt to discourage requests for refund," said Rex Deputy Chairman, John Sharp AM.

Road to recovery

Restoration works by the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) have begun on Cambooya Connection Road, with other roads in the local area to follow ... A TMR spokesperson said the Department is undertaking works on these roads to repair damage caused by several significant rainfall events between November 2021 and May 2022.

New councillor

At a special meeting last Tuesday, Toowoomba Regional Council selected Edwina Farquhar to be new the Councillor over 22 other candidates. Ms Farquhar is a businesswoman in Toowoomba who operates several businesses.
