Dairy farmers from across Queensland and New South Wales converged on Pittsworth a couple of weeks ago for the annual general meeting of the advocacy body eastAUSmilk, which formed in 2021 following the merger of Queensland Dairyfarmers’ Organisation and Dairy Connect.

TMR extends consultation for north-south bypass
The Department of Main Roads and Transport has extended the initial community consultation period for feedback on the proposed Toowoomba North South Transport Corridor. The initial round of community consultation has been extended to the 13th of October.
Drayton shopping centre approved
Toowoomba Regional Council has given its approval to a development application requesting to build a shopping centre on Brisbane Street, Drayton ... The shopping centre is set to include a supermarket, two specialty shops, an alfresco dining area, main entry foyer and 105 car spaces.

Hotter, dryer summers bad news for farmers
The latest Federal Intergenerational Report suggests crop yields could be up to 4 per cent lower by 2063. Reduced yields are expected due to increased frequency and severity of extreme weather, including droughts, as well as most crops producing less in higher temperatures.
