Listen up! Council drives hospital protest
Towong Shire Council is encouraging the community to rally in Corryong next month to oppose the planned redevelopment of the current Albury hospital instead of building on a new greenfield site. "Council remains gravely concerned at the current plans to redevelop the existing hospital site as it will lead to insufficient capacity to meet the future demands of the region for the future," said Towong mayor, Cr Andrew Whitehead.
Photos wanted for memorial
A collaboration of local community groups is working together on a project to construct a memorial in Corryong's Avenue of Honour and missing photos of local servicemen and women who served in World War I are being sought for the tribute.

Running from Sunday 20 July to Sunday 27 July, 2025, the '150 Years of Corryong' commemoration will bring together residents, visitors and artists to share in the stories, momentous occasions and memories that have shaped the town's story over generations.

Ambulance times put us at risk
The Towong and Indigo Shire Councils have joined Member for Benambra, Bill Tilley, in raising serious concerns about having the worst ambulance response times in the state. "Regional ambulances are propping up our failing health system, leaving their own communities dangerously exposed and driving response times to be the worst in state," Mr Tilley said.
