The Towong Turf Club has been shortlisted for a Country Racing Victoria (CRV) award in recognition of the success of its annual cup meeting.
Four club awards will be announced at a gala ceremony on Saturday August 23rd celebrating the best club and community club throughout the past season, as well as the events of the year at both club and community club level.
The Costello Rural Towong Cup has been nominated for the McPhails Furniture CRV Community Club Event of the Year award and will be up against the Pacific Fuel Solutions Burrumbeet Cup, Seppelt Great Western Cup and Nutrien Ag Solutions Manangatang Cup.
“We are excited and absolutely thrilled to have been shortlisted for the McPhails Furniture community club event of the year,” said Towong clubmanager, Rohan Whitehead.
“It really is a testament to the hard work and dedication by the committee and volunteers along with the fantastic support of our community that makes the Towong Cup such a special local event.”
The other awards on the night are the bet365 CRV Club of the Year; Racing.com CRV Community Club of the Year; and Kelly Sports CRV Event of the Year Award are:
The bet365 CRV Horse of the Year will also be announced on the night.
