NLS update from the Principal Mr Damon Prenzler
It has been a very productive few months at Nhill Lutheran School. Excitingly, we have moved into our new school building and the students love their new classrooms ... The school is looking ahead to becoming part of Wimmera Lutheran College in 2025, a partnership with St Peters at Dimboola and Holy Trinity in Horsham. This partnership will strengthen the educational delivery provided to our students ...
Nhill Hockey Round 12
Rachel Clark. Round 12 of WHA hockey saw NDSC – Hockey Division play at Kaniva on a beautiful, sunny 14 degree day, albeit a little warm for players! Nhill played against all Horsham teams, winning two matches, drawing one and losing one.

Nhill was headline news in 1974 as the town was flooded after 6 inches of rain, but business continued to keep its head above water, and new ventures such as Lowan Whole Foods, which had just begun operations, were even established. At the Nhill Hospital, Jason McCartney, AFL football star and Bali bomb survivor had taken his first breath ...

25 years of Kaniva and District Progress Association
Kaniva Puppet Shop is one of the businesses featured in a series of new short branded films, as part of the “Eat, Stay, Play” campaign, created by Chris Hilder of Cholly Media in collaboration with Helen Hobbs from the Kaniva and District Progress Association. One of the films featured Julie Finch, who shares her journey to Kaniva and the creation of her European-style Puppet Shop.

John Williams. Tiffany reflects Art Nouveau, a style that included domes, arches and leadlight with motifs of stylised leaves, fruit and vines. Without question, this would have to be the old Central Café and now Nhill Pharmacy in Victoria Street.
Kaniva lights up with new film campaign
It was lights, camera, action in Kaniva as filmmaker Chris Hilder of Cholly Media visited Kaniva to produce short film clips for the Kaniva and District Progress Association (KDPA). With the closure of Out and About tourism magazine, KDPA sought fresh ways to highlight Kaniva’s attractions and tourism operators. Collaborating with KDPA’s Helen Hobbs, Chris came up with an innovative concept to expand their "Eat, Stay, Play" campaign.

Libraries grant for regional, rural and remote libraries
The LBW Trust in collaboration with Friends of Libraries Australia (FOLA), has announced that 79 country libraries throughout regional, rural and remote Australia are the recipients of much needed funding through the Trust’s Australian Country Libraries 2024 Program. Libraries in remote areas serve as essential community hubs where people can gather, learn and connect.
