Last week, Her Excellency Professor, the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, Governor of Victoria, embarked on a regional visit across Hindmarsh and West Wimmera Shires. As the 30th Governor of Victoria and only the second woman to hold this position, Governor Gardner’s visit highlighted the innovative and forward-thinking businesses in the region.

Nhill Coastbusters successful luncheon
The Nhill Coastbusters hosted a successful event on Sunday ... as part of their Coastrek walk to raise funds for the Heart Foundation. The event featured locally grown foods and talents, with Chef Cat Clarke from Dimboola providing delicious meals to all attendees—an exciting first for many.
Nhill Bowling Club winter tournament
B.Close. The Nhill Bowling Club conducted the annual H. Tink Electrical Winter tournament last Saturday, boasting excellent entries from Wimmera clubs. Sixty bowlers enjoyed some much-anticipated sunshine and an afternoon of fellowship in this popular casual tournament format.
Careless burning sparks EPA warning for Western Victoria
EPA Victoria says a rise in illegal burning in Western Victoria is damaging the environment and putting people’s health at risk with contaminated residue and hazardous smoke. The environmental watchdog has investigations under way in the Hindmarsh, Horsham and Northern Grampians areas after recent fires on farming, industrial and residential property.

Nhill Hockey Round 12
Rachel Clark. Round 12 of WHA hockey saw NDSC – Hockey Division play at Kaniva on a beautiful, sunny 14 degree day, albeit a little warm for players! Nhill played against all Horsham teams, winning two matches, drawing one and losing one.
