Local Lions attend 48th Annual District Convention

Members of the Nhill and Kaniva Lions Clubs enjoyed their time at the District 201V2 Convention which was held at the Werribee Racing Club. Almost 200 Lions members, delegates, special guests and visitors were in attendance ... Nhill Lion Julie McDonald came as "Old McDonald" with a difference because she not only had a farm but a John Deere tractor!

Remembrance Day in Nhill

Around 40 people gathered in Nhill to commemorate Remembrance Day ... The ceremony included a reading of the poignant poem In Flanders Fields, followed by the Ode, the Last Post, and Reveille, beautifully performed by Miss Lucy Dodds from the Nhill-Dimboola band.

Local talent shines on the stage

Over 400 people enjoyed local theatre at its best on the weekend as they watched The Emperor’s New Clothes performed by the Piggery Lane Players. A big shout out goes to director, Will Lynch, and assistant director, Karen Shurdington, along with the talented cast and skilled crew as they brought this classic folktale to life.

Nhill Lutheran School building opening

The morning ... was a special occasion for Nhill Lutheran School, with the official opening of the new school building. Mr Colin Minke, Executive Director of LEVNT, had the honour of cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque which now adorns the front entrance area of the school.

Remembrance Day

Vera is currently in the window of the Nhill Free Press And Kaniva Times. This unique work of art sprang from an idea put forward by Nhill locals Pamela Deckert and Rosie Clark of the Nhill RSL Sub-Branch in 2021 ... The dress was named ‘Vera’ in honour of Dame Vera Lynn DBE. OStJ.
