Crookwell and District Amateur Picnic Race Club
The Binda Picnic Races are a cherished annual country picnic race meet held in the charming town of Binda, New South Wales. These races have a rich history, dating back to 1848, making them a significant tradition in the region 12.

- Location: The races take place at the Funny Hill Racecourse in Binda.

- Legacy: Racing at Binda has continued for over a century, with bookmakers fielding bets on local races with up to 2000 racegoers enjoying the excitement of the track 3.
- This year’s Races are scheduled for the 14th March at ‘Funny Hill’ Binda which is approximately 1km north of Binda and 20km north of the township of Crookwell.
- Tickets for general entry and tent sites (BYO Tent) are available from 123 Tix. Entry is $30.00 and $120.00 for tent sites.
- A feature of this year will be the ‘True Blue’ Truck Bar featuring a 1942 Chevrolet Model 4409 1 ½ Ton Chassis with Cab. This has been lovingly restored by the current owners and re-started in 2025. She originally started life carrying fruit and veg to the Melbourne markets in 1942. This will be selling a few different variety of beers, ciders, spritz, hard solo and ginger beer.
- Patrons are also welcome to BYO alcohol and own picnic.
- Strictly no glass rules apply and strictly no dogs obviously excluding guide or service dogs.
- Crookwell Public School will be conducting a BBQ and selling grazing boxes (which can be pre-ordered) together with soft drinks.
- There are six (6) races with the first commencing at 12.30 and the last race at 4.45pm.
- Limited internet access so cash is best.
- A new variety of hats and stubby coolers available for purchase on the day.
