Award-Winning Angaston Show returns in 2026
The award-winning Angaston Show will return on Saturday 28 February 2026, alongside the three-day “Horses in Action” event running from 27 February to 1 March 2026, promising a full weekend celebrating agriculture, education and community spirit.
Recently named the 2026 Australia Day Awards Community Event by The Barossa Council and runner-up in the 2025 SA Country Shows Innovation Award, the Angaston Show continues to grow as a leading example of agricultural excellence, local talent and forward-thinking community engagement.
Tickets are available online via the official website or at the gate on show day.
Inclusive and community focused
The 2026 Show builds on its strong focus on inclusivity, with dedicated competitions for people with additional needs and disability-friendly categories ensuring everyone in the community has the opportunity to participate and be recognised.
A Sensory Quiet Zone will again be available for those needing a calm space, and families can access an Autism Social Story to help prepare for their visit.
Children’s Discovery Trail
The much-loved Children’s Discovery Trail Showbag will return for just $8, valued at over $50. Featuring close to 20 items to collect, including handmade and thoughtful goods, healthier food options and locally sourced produce, the Trail offers affordable family fun while celebrating agriculture, horticulture and floriculture. Importantly, the bags cater for dietary intolerances and allergies.
All funds raised from the Trail go directly back into developing next year’s experience.
Hands-on learning experiences
In 2026, the Show will feature three interactive educational activity stations, including two brand-new additions.
The new Bee Station will showcase a safely enclosed live observation hive, a “Find the Queen” activity, beekeeping tools, educational signage and children’s bee suits for dress-ups and photos. Free honey tastings and honey products will also be available, with support from the local beekeeping community.
The second new addition, the Grain Milling and Oat Rolling Station, will allow children and adults to hand-mill flour and roll oats using traditional hand-cranked equipment. The station highlights the journey from paddock to plate, from bees pollinating crops, to grain production, to the food we eat, offering a powerful visual connection between agriculture and everyday life.
These stations are designed to be hands-on, family-friendly and rich with photo opportunities.
A true farm experience
Visitors can also enjoy “A Day on the Farm,” offering insight into a typical day for farmers, including feeding baby animals, sheep herding with working dogs, lasso skills and whip cracking demonstrations.
Live shearing demonstrations will provide both entertainment and education, explaining why sheep are shorn and showcasing the skills of Australian shearers, while sharing knowledge about wool production and the sheep industry.
Adding excitement to the program is the Emmalene Wines Dash for Cash foot race, where competitors race for a major cash prize in a high-energy crowd favourite event.
The Angaston Show continues to honour its rich history while embracing innovation, education and inclusivity. Whether attending for the first time or continuing a long-standing family tradition, visitors can expect a day filled with connection, learning and celebration of rural life.
