Back Road Artists on show at Goombungee

Recent stories

Inspired by motherhood, rural living, and community care, the Back Road Artists’ Eclectic Harmony exhibition will be on display at Rosalie Gallery in Goombungee from Wednesday, 12 November to Sunday, 14 December.

United by a shared mission to support and encourage both emerging and established artists in the region, the Back Road Artists were formed by a collective of local creatives from Wyreema, Cambooya, Greenmount, Nobby, and Clifton.

Each member brings their own unique style and preferred subjects, and together their artworks form a vibrant tapestry, like a thoughtfully crafted patchwork quilt.

Every piece carries its own story and character, yet they are seamlessly stitched together by the common threads of country life.

The exhibition is a reflection of the artists’ shared journey, a celebration of everyday moments, from the ordinary to the unexpected.

Through exchanging ideas, sharing creative breakthroughs and personal triumphs, the Back Road Artists uplift one another and reveal the beauty within their collective expression.

Their work, inspired by motherhood, rural living, and community care, speaks to the quiet strength found in connection and creativity.

By embracing this eclectic approach, the Back Road Artists offer a boundless space for creativity, inviting audiences to experience art in a way that is both deeply personal and warmly communal.

The Exhibiting Artists are Kerry Chant, Karin Cheetham, Leisa Clark, Terese Eglington, Angie, Hart, Donna Hockey, Karen Howard, Merlene Konz, Jen Marshall, Jodie Rigby, Jade Sweeney and Sarina van der Watt.

Rosalie Gallery at 89 Mocatta Street, Goombungee is open from 10.30am to 3.30pm Wednesday to Sunday and closed on Monday, Tuesday and public holidays. Entry is free.

The exhibition’s Artists in Conversation will take place at 11am on Saturday, 15 November.
