Recent stories

Internationally acclaimed theatre production Chopin’s Last Tour will be performed at the Nhill Community Memorial Hall on Friday, November 7, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30, payable in cash at the door.

This marks the 138th performance of this much-loved production, which has toured extensively across Australia and the world — from Edinburgh, London, and Avignon (France) to Tallinn (Estonia) and New Zealand. Everywhere it goes, audiences and critics alike have responded with enthusiasm and glowing reviews.

Set in Scotland, 1848, the year before Chopin’s death, the play finds the great composer under the care and patronage of Lady Jane Stirling, a Scottish admirer who has invited him to her homeland. Through his words and music, Chopin’s Last Tour reveals the inner world of a man whose compositions have touched hearts for generations.

Told in the first person, the story explores Chopin’s life, loves, influences, and friendships, accompanied by live piano performances woven throughout. It seeks to answer the timeless questions: Who was this man who wrote such exquisite music? What shaped his art? And who were the people who surrounded him?

Designed for lovers of Chopin’s music and newcomers alike, this is an evening of storytelling and melody that brings the composer vividly to life.

Chopin’s Last Tour has captivated audiences in Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, and on stages across Europe and the UK. As one reviewer wrote, it is “a performance that lingers like a nocturne — beautiful, intimate, and full of soul.”

If you love Chopin’s music, this is a must-see show.
