Congratulations to Kendra, Jane and Bapala who took part in the NSWRL Westpac Blues Tag Rep Day in Sydney last weekend. Brooke Mallison from NSWRL made a call out to the Far West and these 3 women responded. On Thursday 25th, Kendra picked up a hire car in Broken Hill and made her way to Wilcannia where Bapala and Jane got in.
They drove on to Dubbo to meet up with their team – Outback Rugby. On their arrival in Dubbo, the team took part in a 2-hour training session.
On Friday, a charted bus took the team to Bathurst for another training session. When that finished, the team headed to Sydney. After a short break, more training and then a 5pm game. Outback Rugby vs WA. Player of the match (for the Outback rugby team) went to Bapala Johnson.
Saturday was a day of 3- 4 games. (Jane can’t remember exactly. She is still covered in deepheat and learning how to move again) They won some games, they lost some games.
Sunday, it was back to Dubbo to pick up the hire car and head home. An overnight stay in Cobar kept the women safe and alert for the last part of the journey home.
