On Monday May 26 the Queensland Government made coercive control a criminal offence which captures patterns of physical and/or non-physical abuse used to hurt, humiliate, isolate, frighten, or threaten a victim-survivor.
Allora recently hosted a session at the Allora P-10 State School with an aim to create more awareness and empower members of the community about the early warning signs of coercive control.
Students and teachers from both local schools and members of the public attended the session conducted by DV Prevention Educator Michael Jeh who told the tragic but inspirational story of Hannah Clarke and her three children and family.
