Sculpture launch precedes lunch

Recent stories

Khancoban came alive on Saturday with the highly anticipated Khancoban Long Lunch event and the opening of the local leg of the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail and Snowy Hydro monument.

Held at the town’s community hall, the event was an afternoon filled with fine food, live music and a warm community atmosphere.

The Khancoban Long Lunch, organised by the Khancoban United Volunteer Association (KUVA) and Snowy Valleys Council and supported by the NSW government, is more than just a meal.

It is a celebration of community, local talent and the unique charm of the Snowy Valleys region.

Guests were treated to a delightful three-course meal curated by Harvest Kitchen featuring exquisite canapés, a shared main and an indulgent dessert grazing table.

The soulful sounds of Paige Lee Music, a local talent from Corryong, set the perfect ambiance for the afternoon.

To complement the dining experience, a fully stocked bar was run by KUVA alongside the Khancoban RFS, with all proceeds supporting their invaluable community work.

The venue was beautifully adorned by Corryong Country Blooms and attendees were given the chance to capture the moment with Darcy Bly Photography.

In addition to the Long Lunch, the event will also mark the opening of the Sculpture Trail and the unveiling of the Snowy Hydro monument.

The Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail is a collection connected by the historic towns of Adelong, Tumut, Batlow, Talbingo, Tumbarumba, the hamlet of Tooma and the vineyards of Courabyra Wines, Johansen Wines and Obsession Wines, three sites in the Bago State Forest and now, Khancoban. This new attraction is expected to draw visitors from near and far, adding to the cultural and historical significance of the region.
