Cohuna is hosting a one day music festival, Home Ground Sounds, on Sunday March 9 at the Cohuna Recreation Reserve with gates opening at 2pm.

It is expected the event will become an annual event with strong local support.

The event is a unique opportunity to experience world class musical performances and help support the local community as the night will raise funds for the Cohuna Kangas Football Netball Club, Cohuna Show, Cohuna Athletics and Nondies Cricket.

Deb Clarke the Director of Roundbox Group, the organising team behind Home Ground Sounds, says that the ethos behind Home Ground Sounds is simple yet powerful—raise money for community groups through unforgettable live music events.

“What makes Home Ground Sounds so special is its commitment to the local communities it serves. Each event is tailored to raise money for community groups,” Ms Clarke said.

“We’re not just putting on a concert, we’re partnering with community organisations to make a real difference in their towns.

“Our very experienced team takes care of everything, the logistics, permits, and the event organisation, so that the community groups can focus on what matters most: raising money for their cause.”

The family oriented event will be complete with market stalls, amusement rides and food trucks complementing the musical program featuring six big name artists.

Zak Armstrong will be kicking off the festivities with his country style, fresh from his success at Tamworth Country Music Festival.

Big and Horny is a 13-piece high-energy show that will have you on your feet as they pump out big production songs from many of the world’s best such as Joe Cocker, Chicago, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Doobie Bros, Steely Dan, and Little Feat.

Also performing will be Sam and Sam, blues and roots band, ‘19Twenty’ bringing their foot-stomping live energy to the stage.

Finishing off the night will be the headline acts, Rob Mills performing the songs of Bon Jovi and nine-time Golden Guitar recipients, the Wolfe Brothers.

President of the Cohuna Kangas Football Netball Club, Wade Mathers, said the event was about bringing the whole town together for a good cause.

“We’ve had so much support from Gannawarra Shire Council, local businesses and community groups, and the impact this will have on the fundraising efforts for the Football Netball Club along with the Cohuna Show, Cohuna Athletics and Nondies Cricket is huge. Everyone is looking forward to a weekend full of good music, food, and fun,” said Mr Mathers

Ms Clarke added that the success of Home Ground Sounds is built on the belief that live music has the power to unite people, create lasting memories, and help fund vital services.

“Whether it’s a local sports club, a charity organisation, or a school looking to raise money, Home Ground Sounds works hand-in-hand with these groups to ensure that the benefits are felt by everyone,” she said.

“There will also be meet and greet opportunities and prize raffles on offer. The event is set to please everyone.”

Tickets are available at IWannaTicket :: Cohuna Football and Netball club, with camping also offered.
