World titles bound

Charlotte Williamson, an 18 year old from Hodgson Vale, will compete for her country at the World Youth Endurance Championships in Romania later this year.

An incredible three out of the seven young and junior riders selected for Australia at the International Federation event are from the Toowoomba area.

Also selected were Neeve Whittaker, aged 17 from Silver Pinch, and Indi Else from Toowoomba, who is 16. 

Hodgson Vale rider to compete in Romania

All three young ladies are members of the Splendacrest Squad of endurance athletes, which is based at Preston.

Jay Randle, Splendacrest Stables owner, said Charlotte and the other two ladies are very excited to have the opportunity to represent Australia in September in Buftea, Romania.

She said the very high proportion of local representation reinforces the incredible pool of equestrian talent in this region.

“Fundraising efforts, in order to enable these young ladies to attend, will be promoted in the area,” Ms Randle said.
