Recent stories

Donnybrook Apple Festival Inc.

Established in 1954, the 2024 Festival marks the 70th Anniversary of this important Donnybrook community event. Following the success of the immersive, “Street Festival” approach in 2023, the Apple Festival will again be held throughout the main street of Donnybrook from the Amphitheatre at one end of town to Egan Park incorporating Ayers Garden, Station Square, Apple Fun Park, Pump Track and part of Collins Street.

The festival will remain a FREE event, to support our aim of involving the local community, attracting families and tourists to experience the creativity, expertise, heritage, and hospitality of the town.

The streets of Donnybrook will come alive with market stalls, artists, exhibitions, demonstrations, displays of local produce and vintage cars and bikes. In 2024 the popular “Future Farming” Marquee will return hosting guest speakers with an emphasis on the end product of Regenerative Farming practices and the impact sustainable farming can have on long term health outcomes.

All ages will be catered for with animal displays, face painting and bouncy castle, show rides, skateboard and BMX workshops and the inaugural ‘New Sounds’ youth music competition.

Local Community Groups will be showcasing their products and services. The historical Grand Parade which has been running since the 1950’s will take place along Collins Street, swinging back around to return to Egan Park oval.

The Donnybrook Historical Society, for the first time in many years, will be hosting a retro-themed Ball in the Memorial Hall on Saturday evening and opening their museum during the day for those interested in exploring Donnybrook’s rich agricultural history.
