The Eagers Shield Polo Tournament got underway last weekend at the Clifton Recreation grounds.
Local and visiting players took to the field in what was the first tournament of the Downs Polo Club 2023 calendar.
Windy conditions did not dampen spirits on the field and on the sideline.
Two grades of teams took part in the weekend with a zero- goal competition and a four-goal competition being held over two days.
Polo will return to the Clifton Recreation Grounds for weekend two of the Eagers Shield competition this Saturday 29th April, followed by finals on Sunday 30th April.
The Downs Polo Club welcomes spectators to the grounds to enjoy some great country polo, as players battle it out for the historic Eagers Shield trophy in its 65th anniversary year.
