The winning jockey of the 2020 Melbourne Cup, Jye McNeil, is getting behind the fundraiser, ‘We’re Here for Langy,’ to assist hometown boy James Lang and his family.
James was left paralysed from the waist down as a result of a motorbike accident earlier this year.
Jye is donating all proceeds from the auction of a limited edition 2020 Melbourne Cup – Twilight Payment framed display to the fund.
The framed collection includes Jye’s signature on replica colours/cap as well as photographs, and a race day book.
James is a mate of Jye’s youngest brother, Logan. The McNeil boys and Langy grew up in the Koondrook/Myall area and share a passion for horse riding. James is determined to be able to ride horses again and recently had his first sit in the saddle with the support of his ‘rehab’ team.
The online auction will be live soon, for a limited duration. For further details, including the link to the online auction, head to the Facebook page: ‘We’re Here For Langy’.
