Students from the Barkly demonstrated their prowess and love for the round-ball game at the recent NT Under 12 Soccer Championships and Development camp in Darwin.

The boys team received expert tuition and guidance during the three-day event, thanks to the support of three officials from the John Moriarty Foundation. There was an emphasis on improving game skills while also having lots of fun.

The girls team greatly improved their ball skills while also making lots of new friends from other regions. Madison Slade Gould was a standout performer, winning NT selection.

A visit to Crocodylus Park was a highlight for many, while teams also had time to do some shopping and visit a local beach where they explored rock pools for crabs.

Barkly Region School Sport Coordinator Pam Dillon would like to thank Martin Hidalgo, Xavien Williams, Mustafa Kanulu and Nicole Field for accompanying her to ensure a successful trip away for the students.
