Start getting excited for some adrenaline pumping fun, because the Rockhampton Agricultural Show has just announced its entertainment line-up!
Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams is excited to announce Camel Racing is coming back to the Rocky Show.
“We’ll have Camel Racing proudly presented by The Capricornian drawing crowds to Centre Ring on People’s Day followed by the spectacular Rooftop Express and fireworks” Mayor Williams said.
The Capricornian CEO Dale Grounds is proud to partner with Rockhampton Regional Council to help make this year’s event a reality by sponsoring the Camel Races and the Rocky Show Volunteer Program.
“Volunteers are so important when it comes to running events like this and we wanted to recognise their efforts by sponsoring the Volunteer Program,” said Mr Grounds.
“The Capricornian team will be on-site at the show for the duration of the event and will also be joined by another very special guest.
“We’re very excited to be unveiling our new mascot at the Rocky Show and we hope to get some help from the local community to decide on a name.”
Advance Rockhampton’s Manager of Tourism and Events Annette Pearce said audiences will also be wowed by daredevil stunts from FMX Kaos, as well as the brand new ‘Drover’s Tale’ show from the ever impressive Rooftop Express.
“For our younger visitors – and those who are young at heart – we have a whole pavilion dedicated to your favourite farm animals,” Ms Pearce said.
“The Mr Real Estate Farmyard will be a big drawcard for all ages this year with the largest petting zoo we’ve ever had at the Rocky Show.
“There’s so much happening at the Show this year – from reptile encounters, magic shows, circus workshops and a great live music line-up – and all of this is on top of everyone’s favourite rides, sideshows, showbags, and competitions.
“With $5 entry, this year’s Rocky Show promises to be an incredible, action-packed extravaganza for the whole family!”

Rockhampton Show is on Wednesday 9 June – Friday 11 June with the People’s Day Public Holiday on Thursday 10 June. The Show gates are open 8am – 10pm with a full stage program 9am – 9pm.

The Capricornian Camel Races
Get trackside on People’s Day for the camel race heats in Centre Ring. Come and marvel at the camels, seeing them as mighty 800 kg ‘ships of the desert’, who lumber along, bellow, stubbornly refuse to move and sometimes race the wrong way around the track.
The Mr Real Estate Farmyard
Come and meet ‘Rocko’ the Suri alpaca and ‘Patch’ the llama this year at Melville’s family petting zoo. All your favourite cute and cuddly animals such as chicks, ducklings, piglets, kid goats, and lambs will there to meet in the Walter Pearce Pavilion. Melville’s Entertainment are famous for being industry leaders in animal experience for over 25 years and are a popular must see visit.
Rooftop Express
With a list of world first stunts in his holster, show director Dave Manchon is keen to bring an all-star line-up of horses and livestock to the Rockhampton Show with a new show that is sure to get hearts racing and whips cracking. ‘Drovers Tale’ will be an absolute crowd favourite.
FMX Kaos
FMX Kaos perform one of the most extreme shows seen worldwide and will leave you in disbelief with what you have just witnessed. Don’t miss any of the chaos with the Kaos crew ripping up the lime light and suspending time as they defy gravity inCentre Ring.
RESTA Snake & Reptile Show
RESTA is Queensland’s premiere reptile entertainment and education service, providing reptile education and safety training in Australia for more than 10 years. Featuring interactive presentations of a range of venomous and non-venomous snakes and pythons, lizards, crocodiles, and all your favourite creepy crawlies are guaranteed to delight every member of the audience.
Street Science
Street Science are a team of energetic science communicators who travel the country getting audiences of mixed ages excited about all things science! Using coloured fireballs, and mesmerising liquid nitrogen clouds to demonstrate the science behind every day phenomena or building rockets and making slime to teach about the states of matter! Their 30-minute high-energy stage shows will engage audiences of all ages (kids and adults alike), and their hands-on workshops are provided as a drop-in style offering for kids aged 5-15yrs.
Circus Workshops
Run away with the circus at the Rocky Show! Join the free drop-in sessions from First Light Entertainment to master hula hoop, juggling, poi twirling, plate spinning and rhythm sticks. It’s fantastic family clowning fun for everyone.
Magic Shows and Workshops
Be mystified by the magic of Ringo the Magician with stage shows and hands-on workshops for the kids.
