With the Bendigo Bank’s departures, Barham will be left with the post office as an alternative and Cohuna having a NAB on limited hours and a post office. One shop owner expressed shock that services the agency performed for free (with no reimbursement by the bank) would now cost $8 at Australia Post.
Temora’s NAB branch to go in September
Temora's NAB customers will lose their bank branch in Hoskins Street Temora. Temora is the latest regional community to fall victim to the NAB’s devastating decision to permanently close its financial outlet in the town. Gundagai is also set to lose its NAB bank while the Lake Cargelligo branch shuts next month.
Warwick NAB branch temporary closure
NAB has told local customers that it intends to close its Warwick branch for about two months from Tuesday 25th July ... NAB has indicated that the renovations at the Warwick branch are being made in response to changes in the way its customers are doing their banking. Editors note - Maybe these changes are forced upon customers due to NAB closing local branches. No wonder more people are banking with the Warwick Credit Union.

NAB caught out in data lie over branch closures
The National Australia Bank (NAB) has been pulling a swifty on customers that have lost branches since September last year, using incomplete visitation data to justify the decisions ... The deception was revealed when the use of the phrase “over the counter interactions” on NAB’s West Lakes “branch closure fact sheet” was questioned, with information sought on what activities were being counted as foot traffic.
Newstead Bank closes
Viv Markham. The news out of Newstead was not good last week, with the announcement that the Newstead branch of the Community Bank Maldon & District will be closing ... The Bank branch has been a key service provider at Newstead’s Rural Transaction Centre for the past 20 years or so. ANZ Clarkson branch to close
The ANZ Clarkson branch is set to close this week while the ANZ Joondalup branch will move to a new location. In letters to customers the ANZ said its Clarkson branch at Unit 2, 23 Ocean Keys Blvd would close at 4pm on Wednesday, June 7.

A senate Inquiry into regional bank closures has forced senior executives of the ANZ Bank into embarrassing admissions which reveals there is never any community consultation before branches are closed. In evidence before the Inquiry sitting at Ingham in Queensland, ANZ senior executives admitted all decisions about branch closures were taken by managers in state capital cities and local communities had no opportunity to voice objections about the impact of branch closures.
