Voting in Alice: Caning for CLP, small growth for Greens
Labor’s Marion Scrymgour extended her margin in all but one of the seven Alice Springs booths during the landslide Federal election on Saturday. The sitting Member for the massive seat of Lingiari, more or less all of the Territory except Darwin and Palmerston, in the town council polling place got almost 10 per cent more votes than three years ago, and achieved a 7.96 per cent margin in Gillen.
Mallee swings to The Nationals
Member for Mallee, Dr Anne Webster MP, says that while the national federal election results are extremely disappointing, Mallee voters have re-elected The Nationals in a strong rejection of Labor's appalling treatment of the electorate ... "Not only has there been a swing towards The Nationals in Mallee this election, it looks likely that we have won Mallee on first preferences and now hold Mallee with one of the largest margins for a Coalition seat in the nation."
Grey stays blue, Australia stays red
Sarah Herrmann. Grey will remain in Liberal hands, with Tom Venning set to succeed long-serving MP Rowan Ramsey, though on a significantly reduced margin ... With a 5.3 per cent swing to Labor, Mr Venning holds the seat by only 4.8 per cent, compared with Mr Ramsey's 10.1 per cent in 2022.

Election 2025 – Jamie Chaffey to become the next member for Parkes
Political experts are projecting the Nationals will retain the Parkes electorate with 79.3 per cent of the votes counted. Nationals candidate, former Gunnedah mayor Jamie Chaffey currently has more than 63 per cent of the votes despite a slight swing to Labor.
TasFarmers congratulates election winners, and flags fallacy of policy mandate
TasFarmers President Ian Sauer ... stressed that some major issues were not presented to voters during the campaign, including changes to superannuation, environmental law reforms, and forestry policy, therefore it is a fallacy to say there is a mandate from voters.

This will be Australia’s biggest election with 710,000 more people on the electoral roll and 570 early voting centres none of which are local leaving residents baffled.
