Culturally significant objects returned home to Warumungu country

In a historic and heartfelt ceremony at The Fowler Museum at UCLA, a collection of 20 culturally significant items was handed back to the Warumungu community of Tennant Creek. The significant gesture marks the permanent and ethical return of these cherished artifacts that hold deep cultural importance to the Warumungu people.

Show delivers a memorable day for the region

Pompey will be living in North Camp with his daughter Rosemary and grandchildren. Canteen Creek celebrates 40 years

It has been 40 years since the small Barkly community of Canteen Creek was established and the residents are in celebration mode. Set on Alyawarr land around 180 km southeast of Tennant Creek, Canteen Creek was established by Raymond Butcher Mick who wanted to move his family from town back to the bush to develop a strong connection to the land.
