Hub report focuses on freight shortfalls
The Murray Region Forestry Hub recently hosted its managers, representatives from relevant government agencies and industry groups at a conference. A number of items were listed for discussion as well as a packed field trip including the Visy Pulp and Paper Mill, Hyne Timber, Fire impacted plantation regrowth sites and a trip to Ardrossan to see first hand some of the fire infrastructure investment.
Worth the wait
Much needed rain yesterday put smiles on farmers' faces and also gave them a reason to head along to the opening of the new A-G Warehouse Store in Corryong along with local residents. More than 20 supplier partners were onsite ranging from seed, harvest supplies, fencing, animal health, farm supplies, workwear and stockfeed companies.
Is there life after 90?
You betcha! Joan Boardman Sinclair recently celebrated her 90th birthday milestone by saddling up and heading bush with packhorse in tow. The acknowledged 'Queen of the High Country', riding in her father's stock saddle, still believes the world is a much better place from the back of a horse.
Corryong goes on show
The 116th Corryong Show proved once again to be a highlight on the Upper Murray calendar, drawing a strong crowd on Saturday and showcasing the best of local agriculture, entertainment, and community spirit. The event also included the Upper Murray Machinery Club rally which has only added to the spectacle.
Are drones the new spraying solution?
