Narrandera Shire Council delegate to the recent Country Mayors Association Deputy Mayor Cameron Lander alerted his fellow councillors to the main concerns discussed at the association meeting in a report to Tuesday’s Council meeting ... Bidgee Big Bash Jackpot returns to Narrandera

The Bidgee Big Bash Jackpot was held for the second time recently, running at the Narrandera Rodeo Grounds. The event is run by the Team Roping Association and attracted competitors from all over NSW as well as South Australia and Victoria.

Progress welcome on Haystacks Solar Garden

Haystacks Solar Garden members who purchased a solar garden plot have now voted an overwhelimg ‘yes’ to loaning $730,800 to Grong Grong Solar Farm - hosts of the Haystacks Solar Garden - to help construct the much anticipated 1.5MW solar array. The project has been three years in the making to get to this point navigating a pandemic, two energy price crises and innovating every step of the way in the Australian energy system to create something that has never been done before in our nation.

Under 17s netballers defend State crown

Narrandera Netball Association has just wrapped up their representative season. This season Narrandera had four teams plus a team of training partners. The four teams competed in several carnivals across NSW with mixed success, but always coming away with more experience.

Ganmain Arts Festival returns for second year

The second ever Ganmain Arts Festival on Ford will be held on June 24 and 25. The Art Festival will transform Ford Street with art from local artists in different disciplines to be featured in storefronts, businesses and the town hall.

Country mayors body defends regional councillors

Mayors and Councillors from across regional NSW have been accused of being incompetent and not worthy of the money they are paid to serve their communities in a recent speech delivered by new Local Government Minister Ron Hoenig during question time in State Parliament last week ... "My annual stipend for working an average of 50-60 hours per week is $37,000. Minister Hoenig is paid $315,000 per annum and he has the hide to deny Mayors a fair and reasonable stipend when our Queensland counterparts are paid $108,000. He's unworthy of his very privileged position and will damage this government and relations between Local Government and the Ministers. Beauty business icon made impact on industry

Peter Ward Harris, who grew up in Narrandera, passed away on March 8 this year ... Founder and owner of Arbré Beauty Programs, the original Arbré products were sold by party plan in the early 1980s and Peter had a very good business relationship with John Allan from JC Allen Packaging who helped Peter out with the original product range.
