Yamba Bowling Club host state Pennant Finals
Yamba Bowling Club played host to the 2023- 2024 BCiB State Open Gender Grade 6 Pennant Finals last week featuring bowlers from across the state. The club was thrilled to host the top 16 teams from around the state who competed for the prestigious title on the immaculate Yamba greens from June 28 to 30.

Rail trail proposal remains on track

Drake land returned to traditional owners
A large area of crown land near the village of Drake, in the upper reaches of the Clarence River catchment has been returned to the Jubullum Local Aboriginal Land Council following a successful land claim. The NSW Aboriginal Land Council NSWALC made the claim on 104.4 hectares of crown land across two adjoining blocks on the western side of Drake, which will be returned as freehold land to the Jubullum Local Aboriginal Land Council.
Clarence Valley Council wins silver in Australia art awards
Clarence Valley Council has taken the silver award in the Australian Street Art Awards in the Best Monument or Memorial category for the 2022 Flood Memorial Murals project. The 2022 Flood Memorial Murals project was one of thirty- four public art experiences recognised as the best in the country at the Australian Street Art Awards.
The U.N. and World Women’s Day
Oscar Tamsen. The United Nations' UNESCO BMW agency which has spearheaded the annual International Womens' Day in Australia and elsewhere on March 8 each year is still considering whether it should launch a similar celebration for men throughout the world. Some time ago -- in 2003 -- this world organisation received an official request from Chinese sources, backed by other interested authorities, for both genders to be represented by a joint celebration on the same day.
