National Rural Health Alliance (NRHA), Media Release, 6 February 2026
The Alliance is pleased to kick off 2026 by announcing that abstract submissions are now open for the 18th National Rural Health Conference, to be held 14–16 September 2026 in Adelaide (Tarntanya).
Under the theme Equity & Transformation: shaping rural health, disability & ageing, the Conference will bring together researchers, health professionals, policymakers, community organisations and advocates from across Australia to share ideas, evidence and lived experience that can drive real change for rural, regional and remote communities.
We are inviting abstracts that reflect the breadth and diversity of rural health – from service delivery and workforce innovation to policy reform, community-led solutions, disability inclusion and healthy ageing. Whether your work is grounded in research, practice, lived experience or local leadership, your insights are vital to shaping a more equitable rural health system.
The National Rural Health Conference is Australia’s pre-eminent forum for rural and remote health, and a unique opportunity to connect across sectors, disciplines and communities. Alongside abstract submissions, early bird registrations are now open, offering a chance to secure your place early and be part of the conversation.
We encourage our members and the wider rural health community to submit an abstract, spread the word, and start planning for September 2026.
