The Nhill Fire Brigade is entering an exciting new chapter, celebrating growth, renewal, and a proud legacy of service. While four new members have recently completed their General Firefighter (GFF) training — a cause for celebration in itself — the brigade is also thrilled to report a strong and active membership that continues to show unwavering commitment to the Nhill community and surrounding districts.
Adding to the momentum, a fresh management team is set to take the reins from July 1st, bringing new ideas, leadership, and enthusiasm. The brigade warmly thanks its outgoing leadership team for their dedication, countless hours of service, and steady guidance through recent years.
“There’s a real buzz around the station right now,” said one senior member. “We’ve got experienced volunteers, new recruits, updated equipment, and great community support. With our new management team stepping in, the future looks bright.”
The brigade has also announced exciting plans to launch a Junior Fire Brigade, aimed at engaging local kids and teens who are interested in learning fire safety, building life skills, and eventually becoming the next generation of CFA volunteers. The initiative will provide hands-on experiences in a safe and supervised environment, offering a fantastic way for young people to get involved early.
In addition to the new recruits, the Nhill Fire Brigade has recently received updated vehicles and equipment, with further upgrades expected in the coming months. These resources ensure that members are well-prepared to respond to a wide range of emergencies — from bushfires and structure fires to vehicle accidents and hazardous incidents.
Training continues every Monday night at 7:30pm, and the brigade is always eager to welcome new volunteers. “If you’ve ever thought about supporting your community in a meaningful way, there’s never been a better time,” the brigade said in a statement. “The CFA provides excellent training, real-world skills, and the kind of camaraderie you don’t find just anywhere.”
To learn more, drop into the station on a Monday night or visit the CFA website to submit an Expression of Interest. With a proud past and a forward-looking vision, the Nhill Fire Brigade remains a cornerstone of safety, service, and strength in the local community.
