Talented jockey, Harry Coffey, fresh off his remarkable win in the prestigious Caulfield Cup, has proven that his heart is as big as his talent.
Just weeks before his latest career-defining victory, Harry was generously giving his time to the small rural community of Mt. Wycheproof as part of the prestigious Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour.
With his trademark humility and passion, he called in as he travelled to racing commitments in Melbourne and made time to engage with locals, and students at Wycheproof P-12 College, sharing personal insights on his love for horses and the sport of thoroughbred racing.
His presence and stories inspired young and old alike, making a lasting impression on the community.
Harry’s dedication to the sport and giving back to rural towns is truly an inspiration”¦ and to think his first ride occurred at Manangatang, and the first win followed at Mt. Wycheproof all those years ago.
Harry’s Mallee fanbase is significant and continues to grow. In 2024, many of “The Coffey Clan” will be trackside again at Mt. Wycheproof to celebrate Elders Mt. Wycheproof Cup Day -“Derby Day in the Country” on Saturday 2 November, these days however, Harry will be riding at Flemington and all will be cheering him on from afar.
