Clifton Benchrest Shooting Club, Allora Advertiser

Some welcome new and returning faces filled out the benches at Clifton Benchrest Shooting Club’s September shoot.

Michelle Ford’s return coincided with her winning the Ladies Open Rimfire with a score of 585.22. Michelle also had the Best Cards of the Day: the RBA class (243.10/250.25) and the Rabbit & Crow with 147.6/150.15.

Second and third in Ladies Open Rimfire were Helen Manteit (572.16) and Ashleigh Brown (556.9) respectively. Helen also took home second place in the Centrefire competition with a score of .3964 and shot the smallest group in Centrefire (.216).

Three Steffen family members featured in the awards. Dad Luke came second in the Mens Open Rimfire 567.15, while Amelia Steffen was first and Cooper Steffen second in Junior Open Rimfire with scores of 569.13 and 552.4 respectively. Look to your laurels Dad, you are about to be outclassed by the kids!

Jason Edwards was very happy with his Best Card of the Day in Hunter Class scoring 199.9/200.20. It cannot get much better than that! Also, Jason’s score of 559.16 put him in third place in Men’s Open Rimfire. Jason’s daughter, Mia, scored 548.7 to come third in Junior Open Rimfire.

The Senior Factory Rimfire award went to Jerry Purs with a score of 504.3.

Gary Manteit scored 580.13 to win Mens Open Rimfire and backed this up with a win in Centrefire with a score of .3356.

Marg Sullivan scored .5720 to take out third place in Centrefire.

Placings in the Pistol Competition held on Saturday 10 September 2022 were: 1st Ben Dunsmore (244), 2nd Vince Alberry (212) and 3rd Daymon Mason (204).

Last Pistol Competition for the year is on Saturday November 12 and next (second last for the year) Rifle Competition will be held on Sunday 16 October. Enquiries to President Helen on 0418 791 991.
