Former Allora butcher wins major award
Justin Wade, who commenced his career at the Allora Butchery, has been awarded the national title of Young Australian Butcher of the Year at the Australian Meat Industries National competition held in Brisbane on Saturday.

The Frank Phelan Memorial Trot sponsored by long established Show supporters Neil and Robyn Phelan will have a slight change in format ... Allora Heritage Weekend draws the crowds
This year’s Heritage Weekend was another huge success with an impressive collection of vintage cars, trucks, historical tractors and machinery, stationary engines and motorcycles on show along with well supported swap meets. One of many highlights was the celebration of recognising 50 years of Versatile tractors sold and delivered in Australia.
Groundbreaking ceremony for Warwick saleyards $7.5m project
On Monday the Hon David Littleproud MP, Federal Member for Maranoa, Leader of the Federal Nationals and Shadow Minister for Agriculture, joined Southern Downs Mayor Vic Pennisi, Councillors and the project team onsite at the Warwick Saleyards to officially turn the sod on the $7.5m redevelopment project.
