Wakool doing it for Dolly
Amy “Dolly” Everett would have turned 20 on May 1st. Tragically the young country girl took her life at age 14 after facing persistent and cruel bullying. Her family, parents Kate and Tick and sister Meg Everett, vowed to keep her memory alive by establishing anti-bullying organisation Dolly’s Dream.

Moulamein, the first of MRC school murals
Murray River Council is bringing vibrant new artwork to local primary schools through a creative mural project, delivered as part of our Council’s Arts and Culture Strategy. Each school will have the opportunity to collaborate with Mathoura artist Zowie Crump to determine the design and location of their mural, ensuring it reflects the unique identity and values of their school community.

Just over 78 per cent of the nation turned out for Saturday’s vote. When it came to first preferences, the Australian Labor Party received 34.80 per cent of the primary vote, enjoying a +2.22 per cent improvement. As two-party preferred, those preferences boosted Labour to 54 per cent, with the coalition trailing on 45 per cent.

ANZAC Day
Now immortalised on the Barham water tower, the Koondrook Barham ANZAC Day march once again drew a huge crowd to commemorate those who served our nation.
Election day this Saturday
If you hadn’t noticed, it’s election season, and the madness ends this Saturday (I hope). The promises are flying thick and fast, and now it’s your choice to decide. This will be Australia’s biggest election with 710,000 more people on the electoral roll and 570 early voting centres none of which are local leaving residents baffled.
