Grong Grong solar farm developers delighted with progress – almost ready for commissioning
Construction of the Grong Grong Solar Farm near Narrandera is almost completed with new poles installed by HV contractors in preparation for grid connection this month. This will be an intense period of work for the consultants and contractors, who will ensure everything is in place to complete the solar farm and be ready for connection and commissioning.
Don’t panic, it’s everywhere
Troublesome tumble weeds known by many as “hairy panic” are once again piling up on houses and piling up on roads and properties near Narrandera. Hairy panic is generally used to refer to about seven species of weed, all of which are in the Panicum genus, which produce spherical seed heads that roll with the wind.

Lack of facilities hinders Narrandera SES
Narrandera Shire Council has approved $25,000 worth of works requested by the Narrandera SES at the Narrandera-Leeton Airport and included $50,000 improvements to amenities in Councils upcoming budget for 2024-25. At the same time Council acknowledged the necessity to include further medium and long-term requirements at the facility in Council's future long-term financial plan.
Morundah to commemorate National Remembrance Day for war animals
The collection of animals will feature a dog representing the mascot dogs, donkeys symbolising the tale of Simpson and his donkey, and a mule commonly utilised in the Pacific during both wars. Additionally, there will be two ponies typical of those utilised in Timor, alongside riding horses and a heavy horse sourced from an S Kidman & Co. cattle farm.
Students take out most successful cattle award at Henty
Represented by 11 students and eight head of YAHS school cattle, as well as five Angledoon animals, Yanco Agricultural High School took out the most successful cattle exhibitor at the recent Henty Show. They competed in the junior judging where they all participated in judging steers.
