Two Queensland turf companies fined for moving soil from fire ant areas into NSW
Two Queensland businesses have been convicted of breaching biosecurity regulations that are in place to protect NSW from red imported fire ants. The businesses were ordered by the NSW Local Court to pay $60,000.

The last World War II veteran living in Evans Head turns 100 ... Kathleen ‘Mollie’ Scheibel was born in Coraki and before the war, she worked as a farmhand where she cut tea trees and distilled the oil.
Sniffer dogs search for fire ants in Kyogle region
The NSW Fire Ant Program is launching Operation Five Valleys in the Kyogle region in an effort to prevent the spread of fire ants. The fire ant team will use specially trained detection dogs and human surveillance teams to monitor identified high-risk sites.
Moving buybacks to drier, higher ground
