Classic Calder combine in historic grand final win

Chris Lee. Calder United has pulled off a remarkable grand final win in its first season as a combine of the old Nullawil and Wyche-Narraport teams with a 10 point victory over a gallant Birchip-Watchem in what was an enthralling contest, epic in fact, held at Wedderburn’s Donaldson Park.

Hundreds converge on BCG’s main field day

More than 500 farmers, advisers and industry representatives converged on BCG’s Main Research Site on the Sunraysia Highway, Birchip, for the 2025 Main Field Day ... Alongside the recognition and reflections, the day showcased hands-on trial tours, expert presentations, and discussions on disease control, herbicide innovation, yield optimisation and soil management.

Hindmarsh councillors tour industrial estate

Donald’s booming industrial precinct has caught the eye of Hindmarsh Shire Council, with Mayor Ron Ismay and five councillors touring the estate last week, alongside Economic Development Manager Mark Fletcher. The group, led by Ismay – a respected businessman from Rainbow – was on a fact-finding mission to explore how Donald’s model of small business growth could be replicated in Hindmarsh.

BCG has announced a new partnership with iconic Australian workwear brand RB Sellars, officially launched at BCG's Chair's Breakfast on Thursday, August 21. The event brought together growers, advisers and community members to hear from RB Sellars CEO, Jim Gall, whose message centred on the power of optimistic innovation, contagious positivity, and the belief in a bright future for agriculture and regional Australia.
