Dracula says give blood!

Lismore Theatre Company’s Count Dracula is urging Lismore people to give blood. “While the doors of Lismore’s Red Cross Lifeblood are closed, donors need to fly down to Ballina to donate,” said Count Dracula. “But we will be back here in December to take your blood.”

Dorrobbee Grass Reserve

Dorrobbee Grass Reserve is a beautiful reserve that surrounds the large concrete water tank on the hill just north of Dunoon. It is a special place of great cultural significance to the traditional custodians, the Widjabul Wia-bal people. The reserve is a traditional Aboriginal camping and travelling route maintained through cultural land-management practices, including cultural burning. The reserve is also a remnant ‘island’ of fire-dependent grassland and one of the last intact grassland ecosystems within the Big Scrub bioregion .

What is happening at the Anglican Church of St Matthew’s

We continue with our 'Messy Church' programme which happens on the first Saturday of the month. Messy Church is church for families who may not find other forms of church appealing and who do not yet belong to a church. It is held once a month, and it includes hands-on creative experiences, a celebration, and a meal. It does not prioritise either the needs of children or adults but intentionally welcomes and provides for all ages.

Free tickets for Northern Rivers Conservatorium visiting artists program

The Northern Rivers Conservatorium Executive Director Anita Bellman is thrilled to announce that there will be free tickets for all flood-affected members of our community to attend the Northern Rivers Conservatorium (NRC) 2022 Visiting Artist program, made possible with the support of its friends at Musica Viva and Southern Cross University.

Byron Bay wildlife sanctuary

A new and exciting chapter has begun for the iconic Macadamia Castle located in the Byron Bay Hinterland, with the recent purchase by not-for-profit organisation Wildlife Recovery Australia (WRA). WRA is a joint venture between Odonata Foundation and Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital. WRA has been working for some months on the smooth transition from the locally known and loved Macadamia Castle to The Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.

Lismore Theatre Company – comedy production coming up

The next LTC production in late June/ early July comprises two short plays, both comedic. Lockdown in Little Grimley is a 40-minute play about an amateur theatre group contemplating what to perform after opening up after Covid lockdown. Second, Alan Grimaldi and the 183 is a 25-minute play about a man who finds himself unexpectedly dead and awaiting entry to heaven.
