Arts About – Mark Wardle’s wonderful wood work

Mark is quite the renaissance man as he is so much more than a genius creating works of art out of any well-seasoned wood he can find, including on his wood heap. 

Kangaroo Art Trail comes to life

The Maldon in Winter festival kicks off tonight (Friday 23 June) with the long-awaited for Kangaroo Art Trail coming to life! Twenty-four life-sized kangaroos lovingly decorated by an array of local artists and community groups are creatively displayed in shop windows along Main & High Streets in Maldon throughout the festival.

Kangaroo Art at Maldon Primary

Maldon Primary School students have decorated kangaroos for the Kangaroo Art Installation. This art installation is part of the Maldon Winter Festival. Students decorated three kangaroos using a variety of mediums. Students in all grades contributed to the kangaroo artwork.

Maldon Vintage Machinery & Museum makeover

Have you seen the new hand crafted signs for the Maldon Vintage Machinery & Museum? The eye-catching artistry was meticulously created by Signwriter and Graphic Designer Kim Johnson of Signsation, based in Hepburn Springs and each sign depicts one of the vintage machines on display at the museum.

As a committed mountain and trail runner, Maldon resident Matthew Crehan has been part of an elite Australian team competing in the 2023 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in Innsbruck ... Commercial kangaroo shooting

This year, the State Government - as part of its Kangaroo Harvesting Program (KHP) - has set the quota for commercial shooting of kangaroos in the central region of Victoria at 65,100 grey kangaroos. The total 2023 KHP quota for the entire state is 166,750. This means that a significant percentage (around 40 per cent) of kangaroos culled in Victoria will be coming from the central region.

Djaara launches climate strategy publication

A new publication launched by the Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation (DJAARA) is tackling climate change head-on ... The strategy includes a plan to introduce cultural burning practices with a specific focus on restoring unhealthy sections of the landscape.
