Last week the Tennant Creek Eightball Association hosted the Northern Territory Eightball Titles.

This falls on Tennant once every five years and all other centres travel here to compete.

It was a great week seeing some excellent games being played by the best players in the NT.

The week began well with Tenants Teams in all grades – A Grade Men’s, Ladies’, Men’s reserves and Masters, all recording wins.

Each team plays all other centres twice over the week which means plenty of eightball was played.

As well there was a singles event which ran in each grade over the week.

Congratulations to Kylie Anderson and Megan Pulumbarit who both made the semi finals in the ladies. Greg Caterer made the final four.

We also congratulate both Greg C and Albert W who won best and fairest in A Grade Men’s and Reserves respectively, these awards are voted on by the players.

The Tennant Creek Juniors – Megan Pulumbarit, Denise Davenport and Luke Ha – all accounted well for themselves winning a number of games over the week.

The Tennant Creek Masters Team comprised Damien Ha, Phil Crouch, Harry Preuss, Mick Dodd and reserve Peter Davenport. They made the finals event however were beaten by Darwin in the final.

TC Eightball’s major sponsor Tennant Creek Memorial Club provided a great venue and all players were happy with the week and how it all played out.

One of the outcomes of the week is the selection of the Northern Territory Representative sides.

Greg Caterer was selected in the Men’s A Grade side with Trent Wilson as reserve and Mick Dodd named as an emergency.

Damien Ha was named Captain of the Masters Team and will be joined by Phil Crouch from Tennant Creek. Albert W was named as an emergency for the Reserves team which is great given its his first year to play for Tennant Creek Reserves.

Richard Baker and his committee did a great job with all the preparations and received much praise from the NT Committee. Well done to all the players for their great play and sportsmanship making an excellent all round week of play.
