Two 2 bedroom homes built in Wagga, by Adaptive Interiors, transported here and welded on foundations by Zac Pirie Welding and Fabrications. This is one of the 3 town blocks sold to the NSW Aboriginal Housing Office for $1-00 per block.

Sydney Youth Orchestra SYO – 10 day Big West tour

Two buses and a small truck are carrying the 70-member Sydney Youth Orchestra and an ensemble of assistants on a 10 day – 6 town tour, beginning in Dubbo, then Wilcannia, Broken Hill, Mildura, Deniliquin and finally Cowra.

Resin workshop

The White Cliffs Craft group organised a Resin workshop led by local, Tallon Towers. From jewellery to coated rocks, there was an amazing array of creative projects.

Meters, morons and monopoly

When a Senate Estimates Hearing in Canberra interviews the Inspector General (IG) of Water Compliance, Troy Grant, you would expect reference to meters, but not to morons and the game Monopoly. However during his interview with the Senators on Friday 26th May, Troy Grant used morons and monopoly to drive home the problems with the current water legislation ... "the legislation is rubbish".

Wilcannia and the Flying Doctor

It wasn’t until 1937 that the Flying Doctor started looking at servicing Wilcannia. In June 1937 the Barrier Miner reported that "the "flying doctor," Dr. L. E. Odium, accompanied by Pilot Anneal', left at 12.30 o'clock to-day ' on a survey flight to Wilcannia. : He expects to return to Broken Hill shortly after 5 o'clock this evening, and if he has the time to spare - will make a call at Menindee on the return journey.

Combined schools cross country

The claypan flat at Yeovil was the place to be on a typical Wilcannia autumn day, giving the students and staff from Wilcannia Central School and St Therese’s School a perfect setting for the first combined schools cross country event ... Primary kids only had to run 1k, secondary had a 4k slog, well most of them did.
