World titles bound
Charlotte Williamson, an 18 year old from Hodgson Vale, will compete for her country at the World Youth Endurance Championships in Romania later this year. An incredible three out of the seven young and junior riders selected for Australia at the International Federation event are from the Toowoomba area.

New resources for ewe pregnancy scanning
Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) and Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) have released a range of new resources to help producers scan and manage pregnant ewes. The new resources are the result of a multi-year coinvestment between MLA and AWI aimed to improve lamb survival and reproductive rates in the Australian sheep flock through better adoption of pregnancy scanning.
Six figure win at pub
A punter at Get Chopped Pub Greenmount is over $300,000 richer following a massive win on New Year’s Day. It took until the following day for a Toowoomba woman to realise she had scored a Keno Classic prize worth $308,777 in draw 272 at the Greenmount establishment.
Good signs for Westbrook’s growth
A report presented to a Toowoomba Regional Council meeting last week provides insight into how new water infrastructure might impact growth in Westbrook and other areas ... The report indicates a raw water reservoir connected to the Southern Water Treatment Plant (SWTP), which was announced two weeks ago, could be built within Fernleigh.
National U12 rodeo champion
Congratulations to Cambooya State School student E.J. Morris, who recently won the National Under 12 mini bull ride category at the National Finals Rodeo in Canungra. E.J. had an extremely successful year and went into the National Final series in the lead, eventually winning the category with a lead of more than 600 points.
Water security paramount
The water landscape is undergoing massive changes, with some local towns now in the process of becoming connected to Toowoomba’s water supply and other towns to benefit from plans for a new water treatment plant … The importance of these long awaited projects to supply treated water for Clifton, Nobby, Greenmount and Cambooya was evident by the large roll up of political leaders from state and local governments.
