Flyers fill their need for speed
TARMAC (Toowoomba Amateur Model Radio Aero Club) hosted the Queensland Turbine Flyers for a spectacular weekend of high-powered turbine action. The event brought together some of the most skilled jet pilots from across the region, showcasing an impressive array of turbinepowered aircraft and precision flying.
Cressbrook Dam the no. 1 priority
Toowoomba Regional Council has requested support of up to $200 million for the Cressbrook Dam Safety Improvement Project (CDSIP) as its single highest priority in budget submissions to the State and Federal Governments. Toowoomba Region Mayor Geoff McDonald said water security is critical for the Region and a key focus of Council.

Hike to Heal Australia has announced the postponement of its much-anticipated Annual Scavenger Hike and Team Challenge, originally scheduled for the last week of February. A variety of factors impacted the decision, including current unfavourable weather conditions, event insurance, and a variety of logistical challenges that would hinder the success of the event.

Our local area is served by the Drayton Police Station and one of their newest officers is Constable Sam Crumblin. Closing in on age 40, Sam is older than your typical police graduate, however brings lots of life experience and perspectives to the table.
Three cheers for Greer
Longstanding Cambooya Rural Fire Brigade volunteer Garry Greer was honoured as the Cambooya Citizen of the Year at this year’s Cambooya Australia Day festivities. An emotional Mr Greer was presented the award by Toowoomba Region Councillor Carol Taylor, alongside the Junior Sports, Community Group of the Year and Community Event of the Year awards.
Goldfish racing brings community together
Australia Day was celebrated in style at Get Chopped Pub in Greenmount with the Smile for Sophie Goldfish Races attracting a large and joyous crowd.
