Band celebrates 160 years of music on YP
Michelle Daw. Audience members took to their feet for a standing ovation after the final notes were played at the Kadina Wallaroo Moonta Band’s 160th anniversary concert in the Wallaroo Town Hall ... The band’s 25 musicians performed a rousing selection of marches, popular music, hymns and movie themes before a crowd of about 200 people.

Asbestos uncovered at illegal dump
Yorke Peninsula Council has isolated two sites on southern Yorke Peninsula after material containing asbestos was found at an unsanctioned Marion Bay dump ... The Marion Bay site has been used as an undocumented and unapproved community dumping area for decades, a practice dating back to before smaller councils amalgamated to form YPC in 1997.
Ellis trial begins
Rhiannon Koch. The trial of independent Member for Narungga Fraser Ellis began in the Adelaide Magistrates Court ... Mr Ellis has been charged with 23 counts of deception in regards to 78 claims, totalling $18,000, for the Country Members Accommodation Allowance ... He has pleaded not guilty to the charges, the earliest of which occurred just a month after his election.
Talbot’s return in sight
Fin Hansen. Kadina’s Stephanie Talbot is already eyeing a return to the court just six months after rupturing her ACL. The 29-year-old Adelaide Lightning captain will miss the majority of the 2023-24 Women’s National Basketball League season following the knee injury in her side’s third-to-last game of last season.
Concerns grow around dispensing changes

Jess Liddy. Imogen McDonnell initially took up boxing for her fitness, but her love of the sport has taken her to places she could have never imagined. Originally from Minlaton, McDonnell, a 25-year-old nurse and trackwork rider, began boxing competitively in 2022.
