A&E shutdown
Michelle Daw. Ardrossan Community Hospital has temporarily shut its accident and emergency service and acute care in response to ongoing financial losses and workforce challenges ... Increased costs include governance and compliance, employment of agency staff to fill staff shortages, and on-call retainer payments for doctors. The hospital’s income has been impacted by a decrease in the number of people with private health insurance and workforce shortages.

Australian Education Union branch president Andrew Gohl said the executive could not accept the latest offer put forward by the government.

Australian Breastfeeding Association counsellor Sally Michael and her daughter, trainee counsellor Mary Carroll, wanted to bridge a gap locally ... “We will talk through all different kinds of baby topics throughout a session — not just feeding.”
Art comes to life in Warooka
Patrick Goldsmith. Warooka's art will come alive when augmented reality takes a hold of a new art project called Moving Murals, next year. Through the project, augmented reality enabled murals will be painted on easily accessible walls and structures in Warooka and further south, in a bid to extend the growth of regional art tourism trails on southern Yorke Peninsula and attract people to the town.
A house for more than just granny
Will Hunter. Granny flats across the state can now be rented to anyone, following recent changes to the State Planning Practice Directions. Minister for Planning Nick Champion wrote to the State Planning Commission to prompt changes which stopped councils from being able to limit the leasing of ancillary dwellings to immediate family members only.
