Allora Landcare Group (ALG) is delighted to announce the 2nd edition of their book "A Pictorial Guide to the Birds of Allora Mountain Flora and Fauna Reserve" is now available. Since the success of the first edition in 2020 more species of bird have been identified on the Mountain with now well over 100 which suggests the Mountain's ecosystems are richer and more diverse than originally thought.
Exhibition of Wedding Gowns
The Allora Museum at 53 Warwick Street will be open this Sunday 16 April from 1 until 4pm with an extensive collection of Wedding Gowns that have been worn by local ladies over the years. The Gowns and Bridesmaid dresses have been tagged with the Bride's name and who she married.

A century of QCWA celebrated in style
A huge crowd of members, friends and invited guests attended the celebrations at the historic homstead, Marinya, Cambooya on Saturday. Marinya was the home of founding president Ruth Fairfax who hosted meetings and garden parties for the QCWA.
Land valuations steep for Southern Downs
Most in the Southern Downs Region can expect rates to be significantly higher following the release of the latest land valuations. Across the Region, the revaluation dated 1 October 2022 included 18,533 properties, with an estimated total value of approximately $3.8 billion, an overall increase of 50 per cent since the last valuation in October 2020.
