Revised Shipping Container policy

Murrumbidgee Shire Council has adopted a revised Shipping Container Policy. The Shipping Container Policy was adopted by Council in 2019 to establish development standards for the use and siting of shipping containers within the Murrumbidgee Shire.

Joe keeps blacksmithing alive

A teenager was ensuring the blacksmithing trade was front and centre for the millennial generation at the Good Old Days Festival in southern NSW. Joe Reedy, of Wallabadah in northern NSW, donned his leather apron and was kept busy working the hot forge and hammering out draught horseshoes and fire pokers for an appreciative audience at the festival at Barellan on October 1-2.

Narrandera patients losing out on cancer treatment costs

The Riverina Cancer Care Centre which opened in 2002 was built using $3million raised by communities including Narrandera yet is now the only facility in NSW leaving patients out of pocket. It was the first regional cancer care centre in NSW and is now the only one that requires patients to pay for their treatment.
